Program Description

SignTraditional Outpatient Counseling

A traditional client meets with the therapist generally one or two hours per week. We strongly encourage family involvement through family therapy.

Day Treatment Program

Clients in the IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) experience great difficulty and / or dysfunction in their life. This more intensive approach provides an array of counseling services including individual, family and group therapy, as well as individual and group rehabilitation services. This program is specifically designed for children ranging in age from 5-17 years old.

Medication Consultation

A nurse practitioner is on staff to provide clients of Choices Institute with the opportunity to access the following services through medication consultation:

  • Physical Evaluation
  • Medication Evaluation
  • Medication Management and Education

Tom CunninghamMedical Consultation

A locally renowned medical doctor is available for consultation by therapist. During staff treatment team meetings, he provides professional guidance regarding clients.

Steps to Receive Services

  1. A referral needs to take place. Either an outside party of the prospective client or the client himself / herself may contact Choices Institute.
  2. After the referral, an intake and initial assessment will be completed. During the assessment, the client and therapist will collaborate to determine a course of action concerning needed counseling services.
  3. The client will then attend the designated services and have the opportunity to access the medication clinic provided by the nurse practitioner on-staff.
